I am a passionate computer science student learning and developing projects in and outside of school, and sharing my
computer science passion with others.
In class, I am learning about design, data structures, and other computer science principles.
Outisde of class, I am developing different projects on my own and in groups, as well as
teaching and mentoring girls in middle-school at weekly Girls Who Code club meetings.
I'm learning how to develop globally accessible tools to help and connect people
and teaching others how to create these same tools.
Projects
This website! My website is an exploration in HTML, CSS, JavaScript and Bootstrap and showcases
what I have learned teaching myself, using resources like online courses from freeCodeCamp, codecademy and w3schools as well as YouTube videos and just googling things I'm interested in. I started
making this website after doing my fist web design project at FemmeHacks in the end of February!
My FemmeHacks project that won the Microsoft: Most Inclusive Design Award:PharmaSafe:
a website enabling users to sign up for informational reminders to take their medications. Created in less than 11 hours with HTML, CSS, JavaScript and using the GoogleMaps and GoogleCalendars APIs
The UPenn Outdoors Club location recommendation website: a website I'm
working on in a team of three to enable members to recommend places like hiking trails,
campsites, restaurants, and vista points and view these points of interest on a map to
allow for easy trip planning and trip documentation. We are using HTML, CSS, JavaScript and Node.JS in creating the site. I work mostly on the front-end and am creating wireframes to design UX and flow of the site
My freeCodeCamp projects: I am in the process of completing an 800 hour course on full stack web development and have built a tribute page and will be creating projects like a weather website, tic-tac-toe and will eventually help build websites for nonprofit organizations that freeCodeCamp pairs with
Memory Match:
a game I created in Java using the JavaSwing library for the GUI that I made
as my final project for CIS-120: Programming Languages and Techniques
Flappy Fieldman: after self-teaching myself Objective C,
I made an iOS app with a friend to honor our favorite teacher
and game (Flappy Bird)

Other Pursuits
I love to cook and most of my favorite recipes come from the website, Smitten Kitchen.
I don't have a kitchen in college, so I go to my friends kitchens whenever possible to cook
and have made many cooking experiments in the microwave in my dorm.
I also love being outside and am outside whenever possible. My friends know me
as the one who will always walk, instead of ubering, if she can. I ran my first
half-marathon in March (!) and am hoping to climb Mt. Whitney this summer, if I get
a permit!
